Vinyl Wont Stick To Yeti

Has anyone tried it. I ve created a couple decals for powder coated yeti cups using oracle 651 glossy vinyl and applied with no problems. I found a really cool patterned matte vinyl by the paper studio sold by hobby lobby and made a decal to place on another yeti cup however the vinyl will not stick. No i don t clear coat the vinyl.

I ve put decals on the sides of my yeti but i m wondering how a decal would stick on the rough textured surface of the lid. Jun 2 2013 a vinyl tip getting it to stick when it just won t. Usually you have to scrape pretty hard to get the vinyl off unless it s a really thin piece. Some great places to de stick your tape are jeans denim blankets or anything slightly fuzzy.

I m realizing now that. You want a few of the fibers to stick to the tape to make it less sticky for your vinyl. Most people say the vinyl needs room to breathe so it s not good to coat it. I may have to try out a pos decal to test it.

Sometimes i ll run a hot gun or hair dryer over it as the heat makes the vinyl stick a bit better. Use a decoupage glue designed for use on plastic to seal and optionally adhere the stickers for the best results. Another way to help this is to de stick your tape. The water tank manufacturer is rotoplas and its a polyethylene material which im starting to find out has a non stick agent in it to help prevent.

Long story short oracal 651 will not stick to it and oracal 3651 is barely hanging on thats whats in the pic. I have a 20 17 bud light decal that i wanna put on the lid but i m scared to waste it if it will not stay on.
